Culture
Greek civilization has influenced the rest of the world for centuries and set the foundation for today’s democracy and politics.
Greece is home to 18 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, among the most in Europe considering the country’s small size, which date back to Mycenean or most notably to Classical Greece. The Greek language has deeply influenced Latin-derived languages but its influence can be observed in other European languages as well.
WHIA’s goal is for Greek culture and language to blossom worldwide, as its members work to build cultural relations with other nations and trace back to their similarities and common ground. Greek communities are a force in the dissemination of Greek civilization and language abroad and help foster friendship and solidarity between Greece and their countries.
